How to WRAP up the year
Many years ago, I had an idea for a game to play on New Year’s Eve. You see, I am one of those people that believe how you spend that night really does factor into how your entire year will go, so I decided to create some prompts on cue cards to help me reflect on the prior year and what I wanted for the year ahead.
I got my husband involved, friends involved and now it’s a yearly tradition. It was also the idea that sparked my ReSet program. I knew I could take this simple and fun activity and turn it into something that really helped people plan and navigate transitions they would face, whether expected or unexpected.
WRAP up the year like this…
W - What went well? It’s beneficial to look at the good from the past year. What was celebrated? What successes occurred? Think about your accomplishments and milestones.
R - Reflect. It’s important to think about the obstacles and struggles from the past year and your responses to those situations. What was really hard for you?
A - Assess. Examine what should be brought forth into the new year and what needs left in the past. You can write these things down, type them up or even just say them out loud.
P - Plan. What can you do differently in the new year? How do you want to change? What needs to happen for those changes to take place?
Coming up with a plan for the year is tough and if you want support, join us for ReSet 2021 and work with a group, rather than alone, and find the support and community needed as you continue on your journey.
